2011: Spring Break – Ronald Reagan Museum – Berlin Wall – Page 5

This is the fifth spread of our visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum and has pictures of us with a piece of the Berlin Wall.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s and one of the things on my young mind was the fear of communism. So when the wall came down it created a great sense of relief in me, and images of President Reagan telling Gorbachev to “Tear down this wall” and the wall finally came down, still invoke great emotion in me. So it was meaningful to see this piece of the wall.
I chose a brick background paper and then used cans of spray paint to graffiti on it. I had to wait quite a bit for it to dry before I could continue with the project. I used a wide black cardstock to border the photos to help fill the page. I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the title letters that are at the top of the spread.
