2019: Christmas at Roger’s Gardens and Balboa Island

After my conference in San Diego, CA in December 2019, a friend and I headed north to check out Roger’s Gardens and the Christmas decorations at Balboa Island. We enjoyed seeing the Christmas decorations and plants at Rogers’ Garden, and I particularly liked watching the toy train that they had built right into a landscape outside. We ate lunch onsite at The Farmhouse, which was delicious. Afterwards we drove to Balboa Island to see all of the over-the-top Christmas decorations.
I chose green for the theme of this spread to play off of the green in the photographs. For the lefthand page I chose a background paper that was green with a flower to represent all of the flowers at Roger’s Gardens. The pictures are of the train set running in the garden, and I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the toy train on the page.
For the righthand page I selected a green Christmas mistletoe paper to match the theme and bordered the photos with the dark green that was used on the train and the border for the garden train pictures. I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the Christmas teddy bear to represent the large inflatable Christmas teddy bear that was on top of one of the houses in the photos. You may want to zoom in on this page to see the over-the-top decorations on the houses.
