2011: Hearst Castle – Page 5 – Library and Exterior

The fifth page of our Hearst Castle visit is themed in pink which I think helps some of these photos from the dark library stand out.
The lefthand page contains pictures from the Hearst Castle library which is intriguing and exotic. You can see a picture of a library lamp where the shade was made from medieval vellum from ancient books! This page also contains collectors’ coins from the museum gift store. These pictures were laid out in a pinwheel design and the exterior corners were embellished using a designed corner punch.
This same corner punch was used on the outside corners of the photo block on the righthand page which are pictures from outside the museum. The photo in the bottom right-hand corner is of my aunt with that day’s newspaper which she wanted to hold to show the date that she was there. On the righthand side of this page is a pressed penny that was made in the visitor’s center.
