2021: North Carolina Road Trip – The Pyramid – Memphis, TN

This is the third scrapbook spread from our stay at the Big Cypress Lodge in the Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid in Memphis, TN, and features pictures from The Lookout, the restaurant at the top of the Pyramid, and pictures of the pyramid itself. I selected the cloud background paper to match the clouds in the pictures and used a silver cardstock to recreate the pyramid on the background.

The left-hand side includes a ticket to ride the elevator to The Lookout, a postcard of the pyramid so that you can get a bird’s eye view of how it sits on the side of the river, and a picture that I took from the ground level.

The right-hand side features pictures from The Lookout restaurant, the glass balcony, and a massive aquarium inside the restaurant. I did not put any matting on any of these pictures as I wanted the viewer to be able to see as much of the silver background pyramid as possible.

Visitor Tips: If you are visiting the area and go to the Pyramid, I would encourage you to take the elevator up for the view. The restaurant is often busy, and I suggest making reservations, but plan ahead so that you are on the elevator at the right time, there can be a wait for the elevator. You can go up without buying anything at the restaurant just to go out on the balcony. Note that you have to purchase elevator tickets – so plan ahead. Also, if you are staying in the Big Cypress Lodge, you will get a free elevator ticket for each member of your party as part of the package.

Recently, for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
