2021: Oklahoma City Zoo

One of our summer family adventures was going to the Oklahoma City Zoo. The OKC Zoo is a family friendly attraction that will be a fun learning experience for the whole family. We went on a day that we knew was going to be pretty hot, and we were able to find enough cool inside places to make it work for us.
I used several papers from a Safari paper collection for this spread. The left-hand side has the zoo map for which I created a strip to hold in place, and the video below will show how I made that. I was able to find the OKC Zoo logo online (which you can see on the map), and then used my Cricut machine to cut it out to add to the page. The video also shows the method I used to make sure that it was placed correctly on the page. I created the left border using a jagged edge tearing tool and placed part of our zoo wristband onto the border (blue).
I placed the official photo on the right-hand side along with pictures that I took myself, and the patch from the Zoo gift shop. I used a pair of sharp pointed scissors to cut out the leaf and elephant design from a larger piece of cardstock to layer the page to give it more depth. Notice that the right border, photo matting, and OKC Zoo logo are all from the same cardstock design, and the left border and map strip are from the elephant design paper. Using the same paper on both side of the spread help to tie the two pages together.
Recently for most of my scrapbook creations I have also created videos that show me putting them together and talking about the experiences as well as the techniques that I am using. So please enjoy watching this spread being created and assembled:
