Cancun 2017: Scuba Diving
While at Aquaworld my son and I did separate things – he wanted to go scuba diving – which did not interest me, and I wanted to go parasailing. This blog is dedicated to the six page spread that I made for his scuba diving experience. I used two panoramic fold out page protectors to accommodate these six pages – the first two (above) open up in the middle to reveal the remaining 4 (below).
When I knew that we were going to Cancun for this trip I figured that we would want some underwater paper and so I bought these six background pages on Ebay. When I go them I felt that there were pretty busy and I wasn’t sure that I was going to use them, but after playing with placement I decided that the business of them does give the feel of being in that environment and decided to use them
For the double spread above, which serves as the “door” to the other 4 pages I decided to keep it simple. I put a picture of my son on the right hand page, and used my Cricut machine to cut out 2 divers to put on the left hand page. I am pretty proud of this, because it looks like they are printed right on the paper!
This is the 4 page spread that is revealed when you open the Panoramic fold-out page protectors. Since the background papers are so busy, and I wanted the pictures to blend into them – I did not do any borders on any of the pictures. The 5 on the left hand side are ones that the tour photographer took on the trip – and the 4 of the right are professional pictures that came on the CD along with the excursion specific photographs. There is a huge underwater sculpture museum that has been put there specifically for diving adventures which I think is pretty cool!
