2018: Gatlinburg Vacation - Title Page

My son and I took a week long vacation to Gatlinburg Tennessee in October 2018. As you may remember, my parents had a family reunion to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary during Summer 2018, which my son unfortunately was unable to attend as he was working at a summer camp all summer. I wanted to recreate the experience for him.

This is the Title Page for the part of the 2018 Scrapbook which chronicles this fun week together. I used my Cricut Machine to cut out image of the bear. First I used Cricut Design Space to create the Title Block on the body of the bear, and then I used a 12×24 mat to complete the cut. I was very careful to align two 12×12 pages on the mat in a way that it would not cut through the letters.

I always try to be frugal with my projects and so you can see how the left over from the cutout was used to create another page (to the right) that I highlighted earlier in the 2018 scrapbook which was a 50th Wedding Anniversary Reference Page. This again demonstrates the importance of carefully aligning the two 12×12 papers onto the 12×24 mat. All of the other embellishments on the page were left over from the 50th Wedding Anniversary scrapbooks. I used a tearing tool to create the borders on the edges of the spread.

In the bottom right hand corner of the spread you will see a metal pine tree brad. Watch carefully over the next few spreads to see if you can find this same brad on the other pages. This is a technique I use to tie together multiple spreads of an event, in this case a vacation, in a larger scrapbook.
