2010: Trip to Nashville, IN
Early in 2010 we took a trip to Nashville, IN in Brown County. This has been a favorite place of ours over the years and I have scrapbooked this location a couple of times:
On this particular trip, in addition to some shopping and eating at some fun places we had opportunity to go horse back riding and to pan for some semi-precious stones at Brown County Rock Shop.
These two pages highlight these two adventures. Remember that this is early in my development as a scrapbooker and I was still doing some experimenting. The two title cutouts were purchased at a local scrapbook store. I used a gold marker to outline them so that they would have more depth on the page. I used photograph mounting corners to hold the pictures in place.
The right hand page includes a card that identifies the type of rocks that you might find in your bucket of dirt. You can also see that I glued some of the rocks that we found on to the page. If I were to do this page again I would have put a light colored strip behind them to help them stand out a bit more. The two colored strips below them were added to the page so that it didn’t look empty. This is also a design element that I would do differently in the future. I probably would have spread the stones out more on a light colored background in order to take up more space.
